Hi Ashgrove, It's the 1.25 GHz (USB 2.0, 2004) and the 1.42 GHz (2005). I wouldn't have minded having done the external option too, but the wife didn't like the idea. Besides, external boot drives for Mac OS X imho are a tad too loud. I guess it doesn't really matter at this point. It's getting plenty of use.
