Just wanted to give everyone an update.  Dan is Da Man!!  His
procedure suggested above worked perfectly.  In my case I did not have
to do the last step (Re-Create your iTunes Library and Playlists).
Everything was still there.  Awesome!  Thanks so much!  No I'm gonna
tell iTunes to stop looking for updates.
