Has anyone any experience of using the 'new' style EcoDisc in slot

According to Apple (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2446) they are not
usable (being only 0.6mm thick) but the manufacturer claims they work
fine (Yes right, heard that before).
Before I damage my iMac I would like your thoughts / experiences.
Many thanks.
Hadn't heard of them before so I went and read the thread.
Obviously, most of the posters, especially Mark Jacobs, are clueless
regarding Macs and Apple. When a couple of posters pointed out that
Apple uses standard DVD drives from various suppliers, they ignored it
and prattled on about their Dells and Vaios. They aren't aware that
iMacs have vertical oriented drives as opposed to the horizontal
orientation in their PC junk.
Also, when someone pointed out the DVD consortium's specs for size, they
ignored that. Stay away from such discs. Besides most reputable
magazines also post such content on their website for download.
