Hadn't heard of them before so I went and read the thread.
Obviously, most of the posters, especially Mark Jacobs, are clueless regarding
Macs and Apple. When a couple of posters pointed out that Apple uses standard
DVD drives from various suppliers, they ignored it and prattled on about their
Dells and Vaios. They aren't aware that iMacs have vertical oriented drives as
opposed to the horizontal orientation in their PC junk.
There was also someone in there who mentioned using it in their Mini, too, and
the horizontal/vertical orientation doesn't matter as much since the diameter
of the disk is normal, it's only the thickness that differs.
Actually, orientation does matter as in the horizontal the disc is
supported on its 120mm width whereas in the vertical there is only the
1.2mm thickness. If whatever is in the drive is designed for 1.2mm, then
a .6mm thick disc could slip down. Remember, the Mac Mini is horizontal.
