G'day Madamkelly

I've sent you an off list email outlining (with attachments) how to determine
what model iMac you have.

In addition, sometimes videos won't play happily with quicktime without plug in
converters.

I suggest you download and install Perian and Flip4Mac. and see if they make a
difference.

They are both free players, and work with OS X.5.

Regards

Santa

I am a disabled imac user/owner. I still don't use half of what this
machine can do, but I have developed problems with viewing videos. I
do not know if it is because my imac is so old, or is there some other
reason? I mostly use my imac for reading news, watching videos, email,
social networking, etc. Can anyone tell me in simple English what
might be the problem. I have no idea how to back up files, I just know
that I should. I have so many questions about this machine, but whet
I tried purchasing "apple support" they were so far head of me
knowledge wise, that I could not understand them most of the time. I
can not afford to pay someone to come over and give me lessons, so I
have just learned to use it by trial and error. I did pay for lessons
when I bought the imac, but they stopped the classes before I could
take them. They were kind enough to refund my money, but that did not
help me. Would any one here be willing to help me learn just the
basics? I can't pay much, but I am willing to trade a hand made quilt
for some help. -madamekelly
