Oh, no. if you’ve already got that stuff you’re set, and you’ll save a $100 or
so.

You would be surprised at just how quickly a large monitor goes from ‘I don’t
really need this’ to ‘Hey, this is nice’ to ‘Oh man I don’t know how I’ve
gotten along with such a dinky monitor for so long I need a bigger one’ :-)

Most LCD monitors today are very nearly commodity products (and all the
‘computer brand’ ones are made by other OEM’s; for example I believe Dell’s are
made by Acer? and such. If you move fast (It’s on sale today only) Woot has a
Samsung 24” for $140
<http://computers.woot.com/offers/samsung-24-full-hd-led-backlit-monitor-4>
that’s not bad. I got mine form them for about the same price; it’s an
de-branded HP monitor that was resold as a refurb. It’s done yoeman service for
a couple years now.

Newegg has lots of sales on, to so it shouldn’t be hard to score a 24” monitor
for that price. That size is pretty quickly becoming the inflection point
between cheap commodity monitors and more expensive larger ones.
