Wow - does that mean that ALL data is stored in the external database - even
mail and all the attachments?
If so, then:
1) Is it possible to use Oracle?
2) What if the Oracle Server is the same as that running IMAIL?
The machine itself is a PowerEdge 1300 / 3 x 9Gb / 128M Ram.
I am planning for only a few domains, but one of them will be a large user
base.

Hi Paul...
The downside is that it is not yet stable. We just got a bug confirmed that
using and SQL database it does not allow for more than 10 domains? We moved
to iMail based very heavily on the SQL database to work and it does not but
it could if you stay under 10 domains. According to Ipswitch support they
will relase a new version in a week or so which will have this bug
corrected but I would not go with an external database until then.
Benefits are that you can of course very easily access an SQL Database with
any type of script for any type of maintenace of accounts....
