MS Exchange is coming out with a "POP connector" sometime very soon that
will allow you to store all mail for a particular domain in a single mail
box (which IMAIL could do with a "nobody" alias) and let exchange pick up
all mail from that single box and allocate it locally to specific users.
This method is usually called smart pop. Until that is released (later this
summer?) you really need a static IP for exchange unless you use the IIS
SMTP server with "Authenticated Turn". "Authenticated Turn" is a protocol
(supported by IIS & Exchange) which lets the SMTP conversation turn around
and dequeue mail to a domain with a dynamic IP address by forcing it to
provide a password before giving it the mail. This is only so good right
now and it is still better to get the static IP. Have them ask the ISP they
use for one. Most ISP's will give you one if you ask (most good ISP's that
is).
