On all our IPless virtuals we are now using domain.com as the host and
mail.domain.com as the alias. Having mail.domain.com is actually
optional since we are actually pointing the MX record to the main
host.

vdomain.com. IN MX 10 mail.host.com

We only use the mail.vdomain.com for pointing POP3 clients.

On our IP virtuals we are doing the same thing with the exception of
the DNS which is

mail.vdomain.com IN A 10.0.0.1
vdomain.com. IN mx 10 mail.vdomain.com
