Here is what I found with OE complaining about not being able
to sync.  I read in a newgroup somewhere that others were
seeing this also.

If the mailbox is totally empty and you purge the deleted
messages, Outlook gripes about sync problems.  Put one
message in the box and it is happy.

I have had the server hang on occasions but then recover quickly.
