Yeh, you should see the spool on ours the last few days off
and on attempting to send to yahoo.com.  I think they got
problems dealing with things right now.

Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] outgoing mail is delayed!!

I've been watching my Imail sys logs and find once in a while some outgoing msgs will get delayed, but they eventually all go.

My read is that the first and once-only attempt by Imail (it does not pound away in a busy-waiting loop) smtp service to connect to the destination smtp server fails (they do get busy, non?? or maybe the next was draggin'), so the msg gets queued for delivery and the "smtp retry delay" kicks in for that msg.

The above msg processing behaviour is excellent design for an smtp service, gotta love that Imail.
