I've got a BP6 with two 366a's on it overclocked to 458 each. (I backed
down to 458 just to be safe, the cpu's *will* go over 550 no problem. I
figured 458 was a bit safer). This setup works quite well with NT as long
as you update the bios with the beta bios from Abit. The bios for the mb is
actually the same but since the ATA66 controller is on the board the beta
bios is more for it. There are also newer ATA drivers there too. Without
the drivers, you might see some random lockups if you move large amounts of
data through the machine.

I would assume that the same problems exist on the BE6 as well to some
degree since it is the HighPoint controller having a problem and not the
board per se. As well, there is only a $10-20 difference between the two
boards giving you the ability to add a second processor if needed. The
second CPU does not have to match or even be the same speed as the first
although I highly recommend it anyway.

This setup is running SQL7 under NT4 SP 5 quite well and is very stable
now. It was a bit rough at first before the bios and driver updates. I am
using a Maxtor 15GB 7200 RPM ATA66 drive.

I doubt it will be knocking over any big brand name servers anytime soon,
but it does an outstanding job for the money. I imagine if you threw a good
raid controller on it and tons of RAM it would hang pretty well with the
bigger stuff.

In the near future we plan on trying out one of the new Promise ATA66 RAID
controllers with 3 of the Maxtor 72000 RPM drives and putting it head to
head with a big Compaq running dual Xeons. I figure it will get beat by the
Compaq, but by how much remains unanswered. It should be fun.

Also, there is a terrific third party site covering the BP6 at:

http:\\www.bp6.com (imagine that)

We use Abit almost exclusively and the products and tech support have been
great.

One last thing I thought: Make sure you use plastic spacers or insulate
your screws well when mounting the mb in the case. Some people have
reported a grounding problem in rare cases if the board gets grounded to
the case.
