That's EXACTLY what I want to do. *But* according to Lyris' docs, you have
to configure Imail to run on port 26, then configure Lyris to forward all
non-Lyris mail to Imail. The problem with this is that now, if Lyris crashes
for some reason, both Lyris and Imail are out of service, since Imail is
just sitting there listening on port 26 for example, but every mail server
in the world is trying to connect on port 25 (where Lyris was sitting and is
now down).

In fact, most of the config samples Lyris gives on their web site to assist
with mail server interoperability require this type of config. Some will
actually work the way you and I want, such as Post.Office, and anyone
willing to hack Sendmail on *NIX.

Another thought I had was assigning Lyris to use a SINGLE IP address on the
box, and "un-binding" that IP address from Imail so it's not listening on
that IP/port combination. This way both Lyris and Imail could co-exist on
port 25. But I think Imail re-scans the NT IP address list on boot up and
would once again bind itself to the Lyris IP.

Any thoughts?
