it's not a "have to", it's a "want to", since I want Imail to log all smtp
traffic in/out the lyris server to Imail's log for accntng purposes. Imail
relays incoming to Lyris, Lyris forwards all outgoing to Imail, resulting
in the desired "SMTP rdeliver (with Lyris as sender or receiver)" lines
showing up in Imail's log.

well, you can lead a horse to water..... vbg

Lyris on FreeBSD an old P200 MMX should be very comfortable, as is
Imail. Lyris tells me they run FreeBSD internally as development machines
and are very happy with how Lyris is working of FreeBSD. Lyris 3.5 is for
"RSN".
