We have suddenly (in the last day or so) had a problem with users
complaining that they can't send outbound mail through our iMail 5.07 server
with attachments larger than around 900K. I see no errors in the log, and
the spool directory has around 5+ Gbytes free on it.

All of the users are in (different) virtual domains, with maximum mailbox
sizes set to 10 meg, max number of messages, 1000, no max message size (and
this shouldn't make a difference anyway on outbound mail, I don't think).
It happens whether the target for the message is a local mailbox on our
server, or a message bound for another destination. All of the users are
using Outlook Express. All of the users have a high-speed connection to us
via SDSL, and are in our allowed IP address range, and are not running SMTP
Auth. Not all virtual domains have the problem, but all users in a given
domain will appear to (I'm still not terribly certain of this, but I'm
taking their word for it). I can (reluctantly) let them talk to a Sendmail
8.8.8 server that we use as an outbound smarthost and they don't have the
problem with it. All of them were successfully sending large attachments
last week. We have made no software changes on the server in the last week.

I'm completely stumped. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!
