Actually, VNC is by ATT research labs in the UK.
 
 
We use it extensively - however, a few caveats:
 
1. CPU utilization goes through the roof on the host machine during a session
2. Use the java web client - seems faster to me
3. Only good for IP connections - no capability for modem, etc.
 
However, free is good and the client exe (if you don't use web) is only about 170K!!!

There is a free software from Oliveti/Oracle called VNC. It's a tiny terminal server with single exe client that allows remote control of a 95/98/NT workstation or server over an IP network.  We use it to manage over 15 NT servers and for remote workstation troubleshooting.  Works over the Internet or over an existing dialup IP connection.
 
You just enter the IP address or host name of the computer where the VNC agent is running and you get a terminal screen as if you were sitting in front of the machine.

Hello all:
 
I have bought a hub and I am in the process of making my own little
LAN.  At the present time I am developing on the server but this will fade soon. 
The question I have is how do most of you administer your mail servers remotely? 
Should I use PC anywhere?  Whats the best way to do it?
