Hi!
Well, some may take this wrong, but well too bad, I pay taxes! First off, I
am a big fan of IMail..and have been since 3.x. We will continue to use
IMail for our website customer E-Mail services..it runs wonderfully under
those circumstances with its virtual support.
Now the bad. I would have liked to used Imail for our main E-Mail service
with our dialup customers, etc. However in moving to an external database,
the IMail SQL support was just too darn shaky. Kudos to the guy who redid
the dll, but to have to depend on 3rd party sources for what should be basic
SQL database operations was not acceptable.
I had no choice to go with a similar priced, competing product, which worked
out of the box with SQL. It also auto-creates mailboxes from the ODBC
database, and has maibox quota warnings, superior anti-spamming.....
I am not leaving IMail, I just wish they would have put a little effort into
making their external database support work as advertised. I waited till the
very last minute, but had to make a choice prior to the end of the year for
our dialup support. (and no, Access was not an option for database use).
