self-signup and accnt creation is common topic on the isp-xxx lists. It
seems there is no monster app to do it, most seem to roll their own or
combine various pgms and glue into something they live with.

>creating DNS entries,

this is pretty much manual. I assume you're using BIND 8.2.2? Add an entry
to named.conf, and create the db.<domainname>.com file. I bet I could be
done out of a database using ColdFusion (or ASP) with a script writing out
the text files, but I haven't come across anybody who's done it.

>adding the web/ftp site to IIS 4,

manual, although there are some scriptable approaches, I just saw last week.

>setting up Web Trends, and of course creating Imail domains and users.

manual, but scriptable

I suggest you joing the isp-nt and isp-whatever lists. btw, these same
topics come up in the FreeBSD and Linux lists.

A worthy objective is to have everything running out of ODBC/SQL database,
using apps and tool happy with standards base protocols like LDAP and radius.
