If the users are local to the Imail server, meaning there is no firewall between Imail and the users, this is not a firewall issue. From the users computer, can you ping the Imail server by IP? If so, try telnetting to it.

There is nothing in the Imail logs. There is not firewall between us and the users, they are basically local to my network connected by a router.
I don’t think it is DNS because I had them use the IP and the same problem happens. It’s almost like the never reach the server, but it didn’t start until I upgraded.
The SMTP error is Unable to find the e-mail server 0x800CCC0D.
What logs would you like? The ISA logs because when I checked the logs on the server as soon as they get the error or minutes later there is nothing there.

Reviewing your first posts about this in January of this year, it appears a couple of us advised to look into logs and post back further information, which never occurred.
Like Rod says, you need to dig into the logs and search there. If want you, you can post logs here and we can help review them.

I ask this question a year ago, but really didn’t get much back and was hoping maybe someone else has the problem since then
I upgraded a year ago to a new server running 2003 server and Imail 8.1 which now is 8.2, before I was running 2000 server Imail 8.1 on a different server.
The problem is since I upgraded users going through ISA servers received SMTP errors all the time. These users are connected by T1 with an ISA server on their side. I don’t control the ISA servers. I can’t find anything in the Imail logs or event viewer on my server.
I am assuming the problem is on the ISA server, but it didn’t happen until I changed servers. I really have no idea what would cause this.
Any ideas
Thanks
Kyle
