One thing to keep in mind is if the domain is an IP'less virtual it will inherit the Max Outbound size from the IP'd domain unless the sender authenticates as we have not way to know which domain he is sending from until they tell us via the SMTP Auth.

yep...look in the IMail admin app, at the general tab for a particular host. See the Single Message Max Size field? Put a value in bytes in that field.

There's a separate registry key for outbound size.

It's in HKLM/Software/Ipswitch/IMail/Domains/<domain name here>

The Key name is MaxOutboundSize. This is a DWORD and should be entered in
bytes. Or leave it zero for unlimited.

Is there a way to limit the size of emails?
I have an account, [EMAIL PROTECTED], that was intended for legit
company business, but anythime something like the recent hurricane (tsumani,
9/11 attacks), we have the people who feel obligated to send a 5MB
powerpoint slideshow, or something along those lines, that will bog the mail
server down.
As I write this, I'm watching Outlook try to download a 7.3MB file!
