Did you consult the Knowledgebase? If not, I can point the way,
see below...
Is this a new installation of IMail or over an existing version?

If a new install, Is IMail working OK when you use its internal
database? If it is, only then, should you think of trying the
external DB option.

What DB are you trying to use?

The only thing i experienced sofar, is that i cannot login in the
webadmin
when I choose my database to be an external database.
(the administrative user which I did make fails)
