We have seen the same thing across our network. Most of the time we have been able to log in by webmail, delete the offending message, and rock on with Outlook. (Yes, it usually is some stupid joke email.)  Once when that didn't work, we had to delete the inbox.

No, this is actually on the internal network so there's no performance delay at all.  Often its when there are large quantities of emails to download, and it hangs up part way through it.  Then when you retry, it does it again and never deletes the messages.

Yep, I have seen this multiple times on a dial-up connection.  Too many people sending huge joke emails anymore…

sounds like they're on dialup and got a large message that isn't downloading fast enough?

Been on iMail for many years, and lately I've got a number of users who's messages download over and over.  It seems to be a problem with Outlook or Outlook Express timing out somehow, then redoing the session.  But since its on many more than one machine, and with several email clients, I believe its something server related.

Are there settings I should adjust to help solve this?

Thanks,

Brian
