The only thing I can think of that can be a problem is when the email domain in IMail and the AD domain in Windows are the same.

IMail looks up the A records of the domain of an email address and gets the IP of a DC without an SMTPD process.

IMHO we're having problems they can't fix nor troubleshoot is why this is now a recommendation.

I just finished reading the release notes for .04a,
http://www.ipswitch.com/support/imail/guide/2006/2006_04/IMail_RelNotes.htm.

It mentions under "Required Software":

"Do not deploy IMail on a Windows 2000 Domain Controller in an Active Directory environment."

My predecessor and I have done this since 2001.

What problems should I be experiencing?
