If the files that remain in the spool start with T and D,
but not Q, that means the client disconnected before SMTPD could issue the 250
OK signaling to the client that the message has been accepted for
delivery. We have been working this issue for 2006.1 to delete the
orphaned T and D files.

bingo, same here!
This is a new feature of 2006. I get the following information for every thread I have checked. Myspool directory is filling up with D and T files. All of them have logentries similar to the following: 20060630 010514 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (b109023f00008a32) [199.176.228.5]connect 200.79.243.42 port 459120060630 010521 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (b109023f00008a32) [200.79.243.42]HELO 199.176.228.520060630 010527 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (b109023f00008a32) [200.79.243.42]MAIL FROM: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>20060630 010530 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (b109023f00008a32) [200.79.243.42]RCPT TO: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>20060630 010614 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (b109023f00008a32) [200.79.243.42]E:\IMAIL\spool\Db109023f00008a32.SMD 16903 The log entries then stop and no further details are given. They thenremain in the spool directory indefinitely. You should be able to look at the Q file for the messages which aren'tbeingdelivered and get the thread ID from the q file (the thread ID is in theline starting with the letter I. The I is not part of the threadID).Thensearch for that thread ID in the logs and see why the message is notbeingdelivered. If they werenot, Iwould probably have well over 100k messages in queue now. For somereason, select messages are being left. The smtp log doesn't show any obvious errors, just the usual serverconnection errors or unknown user errors now and again. This was an Upgrade and I was not provided an activation key, so I don'tbelieve it is activated, whatever that means. However, I do not knowwhereto find a status page that tells me if it is activated. The upgradeinstructions I was given do not mention the activation and this was aservice contract upgrade, not a new purchase. Check your smtp logs to see if there areanyerrors. Is the queue manager running? Did you activate? The list administration was the first issue I hadencountered. I do have one other issue, which appears after the upgrade. My spoolfolderis slowly incrementing in size. I now have 4000 message where Inormallymaintain only a few hundred. This concerns me because it is slowlyincreasing in number each minute. Are there any known issues with 2006thatmay cause orphaned files in the spool directory at a rate of around fourorphaned messages per minute? When I enter listadministration,my lists do not show on the screen. Strangely enough, if I go to theSMTPservices screen and then return to list administration, the lists willthenappear. However, when I attempt to configure a specific list, I getthiserror each time: Microsoft JScript runtime error '800a0005' Invalid procedure call or argument /IAdmin/IMail/ListGeneral.asp, line 16 Any ideas?
