I read the problem not with special characters in the attachment, but in the
message body itself, no? A bit more interesting problem...

This has more to do with the nature of email, the internet and compatible
font characters than Imail per se. We had the same problem where I worked
before within our French user base. "Raw" files traveling the internet will
be reduced to the lowest common denominator (text to ASCII I believe,
unless encoded into html that your email client can understand).

We fixed the problem by ensuring that all attachments were compressed into
an archive of some sort before transmission. .zip or stuffed or something.
This seemed to keep the character set intact within attachments.
