I was testing mailenable software it seems to have many functions other than
IMail but we are ready to upgrade Imail to ICS2006 as soon as we have the
license.
Mailenable was more easy to install than Imail and is using IIS too.
I was seeing so many problems with ICS in the forum and I'm hoping that when
I upgrade this may not happen.

Really for polish and the support Imail is very tough to beat, it is what we
like to offer to customers first looking for plain old email/webmail server.
If what you need is the abilites of Exchange, then buy Exchange. ICS doesn't
compete well there.
For those that just don't want to pay the licensing fees for Imail and need
a plain basic no frills email server, we've put out a few ASSP/hmailserver
system that have really been working great. Webmail is Horde, which I really
like better than the old 8.x Imail webmail interface.

Amen. My company has been wanting to upgrade to the new one. I've been too
reluctant.
Has anyone considered switching from Imail to a different software? If so,
what have you looked at?
Thanks,
Julie

Wow. Every time I think we should upgrade using the license we've had for a
year now someone posts something like this that makes me realize we're still
better off staying with 8.x.
Now the problem is that by the time 2006 is truly stable without any loss of
functionality (e.g. Webmail in Safari and this attachment issue), we'll be
out of our SA purchased last October.
Kevin G. Do you have any input on this?
Darin.

I called Ipswitch last week and added my name to the list of people
complaining about a known issue of any attachments forwarded from places
like AOL, Yahoo, and Hotmail showing up as .txt attachments with no way of
getting the real attachment out of this .txt file.
This is a very, very aggravating issue and it is ridiculous that it is
taking them this long to fix what I consider basic Email client
functionality.
I want someone from Ipswitch to acknowledge this on list and give us an
estimated time of repair.
Marc
