Adding the stand alone to the primary domain should be no problem. All
you have to do is change the workgroup to the domain name. As for Access not
working. Try getting the new MDAC at www.microsoft.com/data
. This may solve the connectivity problems you are having. Though I am using
AQL 7 and it is a workhorse. I do tons of things on it and it works fine. Bob Everland -----Original

thought it should've worked too. Unfortunately, what the problem was (and still
is unfortunately) that the Imail Server is a Primary Domain Controller for one
domain and the CF server is a standalone on another domain, although both
within same subnet (long story on that one). I'm considering moving the CF
server onto the same domain as Imail, as even a scheduled cffile copy action
(to copy db's from one machine to the other as a temp workaround) won't work. I'd
like to move everything onto SQL 7.0 but the developer we have working on the
other aspects of the site is still only learning. Perhaps I'd best just wait
til he has everything finished then migrate to SQL afterwards. I'm just
impatient I guess :-) By the
way, you were right about getting it to work if Access db on same machine. I'll
let you know if I can figure a workaround. Perhaps share the info on the
CF-Talk list too, as there seems to be quite a few CF houses using Imail. All the

Express, the username and password won't authorize so I can't receive any mail.
Outgoing seems to be fine as this is simply smtp. I would be very grateful if someone could help as we would like
