True, I never thought this would be used at the server level, thinking
that the phishing protection is its major (only?) feature, so it would
be deployed on client boxes only! I can't imagine anyone who's running
their  own  mailserver  wouldn't already know the advantages of and be
comfortable  with  running their own DNS server, same-box or same-LAN.
Their marketing seems geared toward desktops as well.

Good  point  that that FTP or other protos won't ever see the adverts,
but I don't think it'll do much harm for a standard client. Simple DNS
offers  the  same  feature  (NXDOMAIN synthesizes an IP for a friendly
error  page,  and  can  be  config'd  to  do  this  only  for hostname
www.nxdomain.com),  and  I've  never had a problem with it, AFAICR. If
the  synthesized  IP  furthermore  only  listens  on  port 80, I would
predict problems are rare (again, as long as only client boxes use the
feature).
