True, I never thought this would be used at the server level, thinking that the phishing protection is its major (only?) feature, so it would be deployed on client boxes only! I can't imagine anyone who's running their own mailserver wouldn't already know the advantages of and be comfortable with running their own DNS server, same-box or same-LAN. Their marketing seems geared toward desktops as well. Good point that that FTP or other protos won't ever see the adverts, but I don't think it'll do much harm for a standard client. Simple DNS offers the same feature (NXDOMAIN synthesizes an IP for a friendly error page, and can be config'd to do this only for hostname www.nxdomain.com), and I've never had a problem with it, AFAICR. If the synthesized IP furthermore only listens on port 80, I would predict problems are rare (again, as long as only client boxes use the feature). --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] SpamAssassin plugs into Declude! http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/SPAMC32/download/release/ Defuse Dictionary Attacks: Turn Exchange or IMail mailboxes into IMail Aliases! http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/exchange2aliases/download/release/ http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/ldap2aliases/download/release/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
