This is very likely related to a corruption in Outlook. Delete the profile in Outlook and recreate it. That solves most such issues.

The issue that Kelly was having was different. That is both a bug in Outlook/OE, and IMail as it doesn't yet fully support RFC 1870 (SMTP Service Extension for Message Size Declaration). I believe that IMail 2006.2 will in fact introduce full support, and that will keep the Outlook/OE bug from biting you because oversized messages will not need to be actually sent, and therefore there will be no timing issues that trigger this bug.

I had a similar problem last week, but user had OE. It turned out that there
was a 50meg email in his inbox that was causing mail to deliver over and
over up to the point of this 50meg pig. We are set on 10meg max, I
discovered this just by logging into the customers account after getting his
approval. I deleted the large mail and everything downloaded fine next time
he logged in. Hope this helps.

I was just dealing with this issue in house. I found the same message (by
Imail message #) being delivered 2 or 3 times to only one user. The logs
showed only one delivery. Pinging the email server showed good response
times.

I think it was a corrupted .mbx for that one user who was having the
problem.

I copied the .mbx and .bak file to a back up directory after stopping queue
manager, pop3 and smtp services. I restarted the services. It worked fine.
We will see how long it lasts......

Outlook's profiles sometimes get corrupted and as a result they don't
remove some messages from the server after downloading them so they
download over and over again. If you search google for Outlook
duplicate E-mail, you should fine some stuff about how to fix this.

Regarding PDA's and Exchange...I'm not sure why you would be required to
change your mail server. While it would be nice for IMail to have a PDA
ready webmail interface, every company providing services to PDA's have
some method of either POP/IMAP retrieval, or you can just copy (forward
with a local copy kept) messages over to the PDA accounts.

As far as upgrading, with all the users now having PDAs, etc, I am being
asked to look at an Exchange server...

We had this problem a while back, it can be caused by how often outlook
is
set to automatically send and receive. In our case the users had clicked
on
the Outlook Icon several times and multiple outlook.exe's were running.
Check the task manager for multiple outlook.exe's. If that doesn't work,
try increasing the amount of time Outlook waits before automatically
sending
and receiving mail.

Also, we were using 8.15 until a few days ago. We learned the hard way,
you
should upgrade to keep from being susceptible to the IMail - SMTP
Vulnerability (http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-20061026-JH01.htm)
