You can put up a cheapo box running Snort, which is coincidentally the most respected IDS platform *and* free, for a few hundred dollars. If I were running a "small B2B marketplace," I'd owe my clients intrusion detection and attack mitigation outside of an uplevel mail application! IMO, it's reckless to not offer such protection... but no matter my opinion, your perception that a basic IDS implementation is expensive shows you don't have the experience to make a critique. You can choose not to have an IDS, sure, but don't blame the cost. --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] SpamAssassin plugs into Declude! http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/SPAMC32/download/release/ Defuse Dictionary Attacks: Turn Exchange or IMail mailboxes into IMail Aliases! http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/exchange2aliases/download/release/ http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/ldap2aliases/download/release/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
