Since you are running Imail 8.15, this is a known problem and to fix you will need to upgrade.
Could she not also configure another SMTP delivery service that HELO's the same for all messages, like MS SMTP? For outgoing email only.
Obviously they need to change something as 8.15 has well documented vulnerabilities that can be exploited. Do a search on this list's archive for "8.15 vulnerability" or something like that to see yards of conversations on the topic.
If they are not willing to or capable of upgrading to 8.22 or 2006.x then they need to put something in front of Imail for receiving email and put something after Imail for delivery. This can all be done with no cost but the IT department's time, or can be done with supported commercial products.
