I have not started and stopped the SMTP service once I made changes. I did reboot once which did not make a difference.

The vsfs1 is the name of the exchange server. Shouldn't it be vsfs1.valentinesystems.com if it is to pull the mail for the domain?

Valentinesystems.com is not defined ANYWHERE in IMAIL.

What do you mean reload DNS? Do you mean delete the valentinesystems.com zone and recreate the zone? ftp and www services are working...

I will check the imail system log and hope to see what you said....

For this test, I set SMTP to relay mail for anyone...

have you jogged the smtp server through stop/start cycle after you've set it all up?

you have reloaded the DNS server so it picks up the valentinesystem.com zone file?

You do not have valentinesystem.com in Imail as a virtual mail host?

btw, when you get it working, you will see Imail logging:

trying valentinesystems.com
MX connect fail

as it tries to forward the mail to the unreachable exchange.
