I know Ipswitch is promising a fix on their web templates for Mac/IE
users in "mid-March", but our HKSI templates are now working on that
platform, and I'd like as many of you to test it prior to release as
possible.
There are already about 25 installations of HKSI v1.35 out there, and as
soon as we all confirm that v1.4 is working on both Macs with IE and the
regular browsers, I'll release it.
Thanks to a Javascript browser-sniff combined with the document.write()
function, Mac/IE users will see regular-looking buttons on the readmail
screen, for Prev, Next, Reply, Forward, Delete, etc. They are all
working well in our testing so far. Mainstream browsers still get the
nice-looking text buttons with rollover effect.
As an added benefit, those buttons now work for non-JS enabled browsers,
too, thanks to the use of the <noscript> tag.
Let me know how it works for you at http://mail.hksi.net with username
"demo" and password "blue". Go to View Mail, then click on an individual
message to see the buttons and check their function. Assuming you all
have good luck with it, I'll release it tomorrow.
