I don't use sa, rather my configuration is:
IMAILSECDB;UID=imail_user;PWD=password;DB=imail
where imail_user is the user id and
password is the password
Imail has worked fine for me.

I have been able to successfully configure and use an external SQL 7. 0
database. The biggest problem I ran into that you have to use the SA login
to connect. I pulled my hair out trying to use anything but SA. I talked to
IMAIL about this and they said that SQL 7 is currently an unsupported
database. (SQL 6.5 is supported).
If you need help beyond this little trick let me know and I will try to
help.

PS, Is everybody mostly pleased with IMAIL? I have to admit I wouldn't buy
it a second time, I've had so many problems with it. We bought it primarily
for the Web Messaging. If any of you are using the Web Messaging you
probably know what I mean. The 'templates' that ships with Imail are
absolutely a joke and don't work let alone look half decent....
