What doesn't work with the web interface? I'm curious, because we are
planning to have the IMail server up soon, primarily using the web access.
As for the templates, I think it is best that IMail not spend all their time
on the templates. They should only distribute a set that does everything
for everyone, not lots of sets that meet the needs of specific types of
customers. The templates are available to edit -- and there is a *lot* of
flexibility. Check out the templates by HKSI to get an idea of what can be
done. I recently finished an evaluation of Exchange 2000's Outlook Web
Access, which amazed everyone who has seen it. Yet, with a bit of work, you
can alter IMail's templates to do most of what OWA can. And, out of the
box, I'd say that IMail's templates are better than the OWA from Exchange
5.5.
In our case, most users will have version 5 browsers, allowing me to
experiment with some newer features. I've got it set up so that when you
log on, you are immediately placed at your inbox, you can right-click on
messages to read/delete/ reply/forward/etc., you can select groups of
messages (with the SHIFT and CTRL keys like in Windows apps), have messages
appear in new windows, etc.
