I have an IMail server on my organization, but my server is connected to
Internet on an dial-up connection, at night, when i download/upload the mail
from/to the ISP mail server, mail colected troughout the day.
The problem is that my domain is not registered in Internet, so my outgoing
mail goes (normaly) with a domain name not resolved by a Internet DNS server
in header, thus, a replay to that message from a real recipient goes
nowhere, generating a NDR.
So, my users need to configure the Replay Adress in their mailers to a real
mailbox, located on my ISP server or anywhere in Internet.
What i need to know if exist a tool to process my outgoing mail, removing my
local domain ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) replacing it with a real domain, like
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and after that to deliver the mail to my ISP. Of course,
the [EMAIL PROTECTED] need to exist.
In other words, i need a masquerade server. Does anybody use such a tool
with IMail server (or other mail server) ?
I try to use the SMTP Gateway from the NT Option Pack, who knows to
masquerade a domain, but he needs a permanent connection to the ISP, because
he wants to resolve/contact the IP of destination domain first, and after
that to deliver the mail from queue, but is imposible to me to mantain a
permanent connection to my ISP, and the SMTP Gateway does not know to use a
proxy server, but the IMail server knows.

Scuse my bad english, but is not my native language.

TIA,
