Postfix does have very sophisticated possibilities to do exactly what you 
want to do. It's called "address rewriting" handled by the cleanup 
daemon.  I have not done this, but I think it would require you to install 
an IMGate machine "in front of" your Imail machine and the dialup modem.

postfix would do all the work (see the postfix faq about how to do this) in 
dealing with your dialup link, and effectively be able to "re-write" your 
fake Imail addresses into real external addresses, or whatever you want to do.

However, since I have not done this, I suggest you pose this question on 
the postifix users list, where there are some very experienced postfix/mail 
gurus who can speak with more authority and precision than I on this topic 
(actually on any topic!! vbg)
