POP3 isn't the problem because to READ mail, a POP3 server requires a password.
The problem is your users sending mail to your Imail SMTPD server from the
"SMTP client" portion of their mail programs.

1. Click "relay for addresses": and put in all the ip addresses you know,
but don't be too generous. keep the address list as small as possible.
2. On the same tab, DON'T check the "Disable SMTP AUTH reporting".
3. Tell EVERYBODY to configure their mail client programs, in the "outgoing
mail server" section for SMTP AUTH.
This is the most widely applicable and most reliable anit-spam setup for
Imail.
Then contact ORBS and have them try to relay-test you.
We got "spammed" by ORBS relay-testing twice last week. They sent about 30
mails on two different occasions. But our gateway hub shut them out every
time. And they didn't even try my Imail machine because it is not in DNS
records as an MX host.
