As part of the estimated 0.03% of people using a v2 browser, I actually agree with you 
for the most part.  I don't think that IMail should ensure compatibility with v3 
browsers.  However, I do think that people offering free web E-mail (as opposed to 
ISPs offering it as part of their services, or companies offering it to employees) 
should at least consider v3 compatibility to reach a slightly wider audience.

A big factor is that the newer browsers have newer -- and useable --features.  The one 
I designed here only works with IE5, and looks a lot more like an E-mail client than a 
bunch of web pages.  Of course, as a corporation, we can dictate what browsers people 
need to use.
