If you have the option, you can set up a SMTP server in what's called a DMZ
zone on your router. Run the email virus scan utility at that point and
then ship the mail to the imail server. I have found in my past experience
that a SMTP server in the firewall is a good security measure anyway for any
secure network Hope this might help a little.
