Hi,
I want to set up a secure SMTP server. So I activated "No Mail Relay" in
the SMTP settings to force clients to log on with user/password.
There are two domains on the server. The first is the default domain that
is bound to an IP address. Inside there is one user called "root" with the
password "test".
Additionally there is a virtual domain called "m1.mailkunden.de". The user
here is called "root", too. But it has the password "root".
I can log in to web messaging with both accounts without problems.
Now I set up my eMail client to send SMTP AUTH with username
"root%m1.mailkunden.de" and password "root". This doesn't work.
Also "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and the same password doesn't work.
Then I tried "root" and password "root" and it worked.
I think the scheme for formatting the usernamed there is somewhat
different from that used by POP3. Or does SMTP AUTH only work with
non-virtual (IP-bound) Domains?
