It's not really an error. EHLO is a request to do ESMTP (Enhanced SMTP I
think) if a server does not support ESMTP then it will send back a 502 error
message, then the mail server will send a normal SMTP request (HELO).
ESMTP offers service such as message size checking and pipelining.
This is by design and as long as the HELO is responded to it is working
fine.

I seem to be getting these errors rather frequently and from several
different destination mail systems. Is this a problem here or with the
destination mail system? The below example is not universal for theplanet
-- it does accept mail without this error, too. I haven't been able to
determine a pattern for the error, or non-error, condition with this
destination mail server.
