Ok, I've tried everything and can't figure this
problem out. Currently our Imail server is hosting about 12 different mail
domains. The server is setup with one real IP address as our default mail domain
and the rest are virtual IP's. Also, our default mail domain is running off of a
SQL database. Here's the problem. A few of our customers work for a software
company accross the street from us. Apparently, they can not send from their
system to their personal email accounts at surrealnet.net (our default) domain.
They can however, mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED].
Now at first I thought it was a DNS resolution problem but then I sent an email
from their system to a surrealnet.com alias pointing to their surrealnet.net
address, and it went through fine. Since surrealnet.com is hosted on the same
Imail machine and resolving from the same DNS servers I don't know if the
problem is DNS related or not. The only other thing I can think of is that when
setting up SQL (actually running Platypus billing software) we used a
configuration tool called BTImail.exe which I setup using the IP address not the
domain name. If anyone has ever had or heard of this problem before any help
would be great. Thanks.
