The next time this happens, trying telneting to port 110. See if anything shows up
(you should at least see the line with the mail server name in it). If that shows up,
IMail is responding. You can then test to see if it is working (type USER username,
PASS password, LIST to see a list of messages, TOP x y will show the first y lines of
message #x).
If POP3 and web messaging appear to stop working at the same time, it likely isn't
that one of the services is stopping. Perhaps a specific user has a problem with
their mailbox? Do all users have the same problem when this happens, or can some
people get their mail?
