Could also be a routing problem. If you get on your network (not dialed in),
on another computer besides the IMail Server, can you ping all the addresses
assigned to the IMail computer? If you can, that says the core network is
probably OK and the problem lies in the dialup routes. The restart is always
a good idea when adding or changing IPs. Even though NT does not always say
you need to, sometimes it is just plain wrong! Seen it happen myself on more
than one occasion and I don't do this all that many times (maybe 10 and at
least 2 times a restart was required!). Also, if you have changed the
Host/Domain names or the IP of the computer, NT is not very good at updating
the \winnt\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS file (which is read and used before
external DNS queries are generated).

Hi ,
can any one tell me what exactly happening in my crazy system.
I have NT machine running imail server 6 , it have several ips assigned to
it , when I dial to my network I can ping on some ips and some of them never
reply (time outs),at the same time , so email users which use domains with
those Ips can't connect to my server to get the mail.
so the problem is some ips work and other don't !
Can you tell me what I can do.
