If our T1 goes down our router (cisco) will automatically dial the ISDN  backup.  I don't have dsl experience but if your router supports this I don't see why it wouldn't work.  You shouldn't need to make DNS changes in this case.

The server is Win2k if that helps, and there is a Linksys DSL/Cable
NAT/Firewall in the front.
