Actually, he hired me to put in imgate quickly because he thought his 
machine had been overloaded and was very slow recently and that 
imgate would offload some work, but I found anomalies in trying to 
telnet to his machine which I think are still biting shim now.   The 
weird thing is the message IMGate now has, saying the Imail queue is 
overflowed.   IMGate is still moving msgs at a 50K msgs/day rate, but 
look at his IMGate stats for today so far:

you can see the huge drop in throughput at 1500-1600 hours.  and that 
was preceded by the huge jump in deferrals (queued msgs) at 1100-1200 hours.
