We've been using IMail 4.07 for a long time, and have been so happy we've
never upgraded. Recently, we needed to use the listserv feature for the
first time. For most addresses in the listserv mailing list, it works fine.
However, for AOL address, plus a few others, the message bounces. Can
anybody help?

Here's some more details: when we first noticed the bouncing problem, I
checked the sym(date).txt file in the \imail\spool directory. I found this
SMTP conversation for the failed messages:

10:20 10:15 SMTP-(0000025F) >HELO mail.salemorrotary.org
10:20 10:15 SMTP-(0000025F) 250 salemcomputer.net Hello [208.8.150.202],
pleased to meet you
10:20 10:15 SMTP-(0000025F) >MAIL
From:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
10:20 10:15 SMTP-(0000025F) 501
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... Sender domain must exist
10:20 10:15 SMTP-(0000025F) ERR undeliverable 501
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... Sender domain must exist
10:20 10:15 SMTP-(0000025F) SMTP_DELIV_FAILED
10:20 10:15 SMTP-(0000025F) >QUIT

My understanding about these kinds of errors is that are somehow caused by a
mismatch between the reply-to line and the IP of the source of the message.
So I started playing around with our IPs and domain names. Now I get this
message:

10:20 14:53 SMTP-(00000243) >HELO mail.salemorrotary.org
10:20 14:53 SMTP-(00000243) 250 rly-yb03.mx.aol.com OK
10:20 14:53 SMTP-(00000243) >MAIL From:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
10:20 14:53 SMTP-(00000243) 550 REQUESTED ACTION NOT TAKEN: DNS FAILURE
10:20 14:53 SMTP-(00000243) ERR undeliverable 550 REQUESTED ACTION NOT
TAKEN: DNS FAILURE
10:20 14:53 SMTP-(00000243) SMTP_DELIV_FAILED
10:20 14:53 SMTP-(00000243) >QUIT

I have no idea what causes this message.

Here is the configuration we're dealing with:

IMail runs on an NT Server with several IPs. The computer's primary IP is
208.8.150.202 (for servername.bcwebhost.net). The IMail IP is 208.8.150.204
(mail.bcwebhost.net). We have several IMail virtual domains, such as
mail.salemorrotary.org. The DNS records for these point to
mail.bcwebhost.net (208.8.150.204).

>From what I can see, messages going out from the listserv identify
themselves as coming from 208.8.150.204, but also coming from
severname.bcwebhost.net (208.8.150.202). Hence, a mismatch that stops AOL
and similar ISPs.

Note that this seems to only effect the list server, possibly because that
mail originates from that server. Normal mail is delivered to AOL, etc.
just fine.

I know I've seen this discussed in this list before. Can anyone tell me
what I've got configured wrong?
