Hi PJ and welcome aboard :)
Right from the start, let me tell you that I've been a "lurker" on this
discussion list since last July. Lurking has several Good Things going for
it, one of them being the opportunity to learn from seasoned experts who
actively participate and *help* other [fledgling] mail admins. I won't name
names for fear of omitting anyone, but you'll come to know them. In fact,
of the two dozen lists I'm subscribed to (Novell, MS, etc.), the IMail Forum
has, by far, the highest "signal-to-noise ratio". This group is filled with
extremely knowledgeable people who also harbor an altruistic side.
That having been said, I believe that it is customary (or good practice) to
"lurk" for a while to get a sense of what the group is about. If I may be
so rude as to quote you verbatim and express my comments, I'd say that
"Would appreciate any tips and tricks anyone might want to communicate." is
analogous to your boss wanting a hard copy of the Internet ;))
There are indeed many "tips and tricks", PJ. You can find them in the
documentation for IMail Server (IMail6.pdf), in the Knowledge Base
(http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/), and in the archives of the IMail Forum
discussions (http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/).
I hope that you enjoy the *many* benefits of this Forum. There is
tremendous expertise and good will here. If I may suggest, please abide by
the sacred ritual of lurking for some time before asking questions. You
will gain a wealth of information in the process -- if it's anything like my
experience -- and you will be better at asking focused, pointed questions to
this panel.
I hope that what I wrote will be well received, PJ. I still consider myself
a newbie after 20 years of net and mail admin stuff. The great thing is
that you are now in the company (excluding myself) of experts who are more
than willing to help you *if you ask specific questions*.
Regards,
Guy

Hello all:
I just joined the forum. New to being an ISP and having Ipswitch I-Mail as a
mail server. Would appreciate any tips and tricks anyone might want to
communicate.
Thanks
PJ
