You could do this in one of two ways:

1. Set up an Imail server in you local office with a different domain
that distinguishes that office and give all users in the office an email
address for them to use for only interoffice communication.

2. Set up an Imail server in your local office with the domain the
already exists for the users in that office, and move all the
information from the currant server to the new server. You would then
have to change all of the relevant DNS settings.

If you are using W2K AD domains, set up sites in AD. This will help on
your bandwidth issue by cutting down on some other traffic.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Help Please on Intranet Mail.

Hi,

I have my i-mail server in Atlanta serving 5 Domains, but we are
actually
located in India. Each domain has arround 200 Users out of which more
than 50 in
each domain are mobile. we use outlook as email client. Now the problem
is We
don't have any intranet mail server running, if a person in my office
(Not
Mobile) need to send a mail to someone in the office itself is actully
getting
connected to the server at atlanta and receiving the mail from there.
This
procedure is occoping huge amount of bandwidth. I can have a mail server
at my
location itself but my internet bandwidht is not consistent and have too
much of
downtime. Now can any one help me on this statergy.

1. I will have a mail server installed on my intranet and will create
the
accounts only for my intranet people and all other mails to the people
outside
the office (Branch office) will only be sent out to the server which is
at
atlanta. I have some people say 50 out of the whole who are mobile (go
out for a
day or 2 and come back) should access their mails.

Please help me out.
